The data type listed above collected by Exhbitors using My Leads at our events by scanning your visitor badge. We are not the data controller of this data, cannot access the data and are not responsible for third party use. For further information, please see any relevant third party privacy policies or the applicable terms of use for the relevant app.
Consent:
To follow regulations like GDPR, attendee is agreeing to share their personal information with exhibitors. This means that attendees can choose not to allow their details to be shared when registering for the event, either by not providng that piece of information or not registering.
Limited Information and Security:
The barcode on badge contains encrypted data that can only be read by our priority scanning software. Information submitted on web Page is also encrypted into our database.
Exhibitor Access:
Only exhibitors who rent official badge scanners can access attendee data. If they do not rent a scanner, no information is shared. Plus if Attendee does not want to share their data they can choose not to have their badge scanned.
Data Usage - Post Event:
Attendees who allow their badges to be scanned are essentially sharing their information as if handing over a business card. Exhibitors may use this data for follow-up marketing efforts, which is subject to their own privacy policies.
Conclusion:
The information we collect is no different than what is usaully contained on a business card. Attendees at trade shows should be aware of how their personal information is collected and used through badge scanning. Opting in or out of data sharing during registration is crucial for controlling post-event communications and protecting personal privacy.
