ADDITIVE MANUFACTURING OF PRINTED CIRCUITS WITH SOLDERABLE INK

Wednesday 3:00 PM - Mexican Plaza - 17 Hands Room

Program Description :

Printable conductive inks have enabled additive manufacturing of durable, flexible electronics. Deposition methods for these inks include direct-write for rapid prototyping, as well as screen printing for high-speed manufacturing. Use cases such as antennas, sensors, solar cells, heaters, and battery monitoring systems highlight the variety of applications leveraging the properties of these inks. Soldering of SMDs directly to conductive ink has enabled many more applications that were not possible before. Additive manufacturing of printed circuits with solderable ink offers a unique alternative for many applications. Topics for this presentation include: - Printable Silver Conductive Ink Properties - Soldering methods - Removal of caustic manufacturing methods - Screen Printing capabilities - Examples of where this material is currently being used in the industry - Comparing price and lead times with current Industry manufacturing Marshall Tibbetts is COO of ACI Materials.
