DIELECTRIC SPECTROSCOPY AND CHROMATIC CONFOCAL FOR QUALITY CONTROL OF CONFORMAL COATINGS

Wednesday 11:00 AM - Mission Towers - Digi Key Room

Program Description :

In this seminar, we will be covering how dielectric spectroscopy (DS) and chromatic confocal can be used as measurement techniques to ensure quality control of solvent-borne conformal coatings and coating thickness.

Using DS, additional process control can be implemented into thinning processes and material changes due to solvent evaporation, extended storage, and lot-to-lot variation can be tracked.

After the application of conformal coating, chromatic confocal measurements can be used as an accurate, non-destructive way to measure the wet and dry thickness of a coating layer on production boards.
